Outcomes
This project focused on expanding Durango Septic’s online reach across Southwest Colorado. It began with a full technical audit and competitive review, followed by a complete SEO strategy including metadata updates, Google Business Profile optimization, local citations, and geo-targeted service pages for Bayfield, Cortez, Vallecito, and Ignacio.
Impressions more than tripled within three months
Organic clicks increased substantially at the 6-month mark
Regional keywords like “Ignacio septic pumping” jumped from position 19 to #1
Achieved first-page rankings across all targeted local service terms
The Project
Durango Septic was already ranking well for the exact match keyword “durango septic”. We dove into this strategy with the goal of keeping the current SEO, but improving overall reach in the region.
In addition to optimizing the website to establish better EEAT, we used geo-targeting service pages to increase online reach to the Bayfield, Cortez, Vallecito, and Ignacio areas.
In the first three months, clicks increased slightly and impressions more then tripled!

Primary keywords for the local areas, such as “ignacio septic pumping”, moved from position 19 to position 1! We were able to get Durango Septic ranking on page one for all regional keywords.

6 Month Check-In
The red arrow (below) is where we began our project. There was a dramatic increase in impressions that continued to scale over time.

The red arrow (below) is the 6-month mark where clicks started to increase - right on schedule! This is a great example of the typical trajectory of a long-term SEO investment. While impressions are a good indicator, the clicks are where the money is at.
All of our services are aimed at ultimately getting you quality leads, which come from clicks. If your business is not getting an increase in clicks by the 6-month mark, your SEO strategy probably isn’t working for you.
